A Medicare Geek is a professional, licensed insurance agent who helps people with all things Medicare.  Our model is about doing the right thing by the client first and getting paid second.  A Medicare Geek cares first.

We don’t pay games with commisisons or renewals. You get the full commission and renewals available paid to you directly by the carrier. If you’re ever unhappy, we will give you a release with no questions asked.

We don’t make you be exclusive: if there’s a product we don’t have and can’t get, we’re fine if you go get it direct or from another FMO.  We are also agent-led so we know what it’s like to be agents in the field building this business day by day and we’re here to help you succeed as fast as you want to

You can do that. There used to be much more support and leads directly from the carriers. In the current business climate, carriers are paying the FMOs to have them generate the bulk of the business so there’s more value with a good FMO– marketing and back office support, one-stop enrollment platforms, commission audit support and more!

An agent can build this business as quickly or slowly as he/she wants.  When an agent gets to 500 members, they are making six figures in renewal income.  That usually bypasses any other employment income so they can focus all of their efforts on helping the population.  It’s a great, rich feeling to start the month knowing that all of your bills and paid and you can go out into the world and help more people and make more money.

Not from us. This is a business you are building and some of the ways you do that may cost money– retail booth locations, mailings, any other marketing initiative you voluntarily take on.  But there are no hidden fees from us!

This is a great career for anyone who doesn’t need it to pay a full-time wage the first year or two.  It’s great for someone who has low expenses, someone who has another full or part-time job to make ends meet while they build this.  It’s an amazing second, third or fourth career for someone who has retired with a pension or savings.  It is not a good fit for someone who needs the business to produce a full time income right away.

There are several “Geeks” in leadership that you can reach out to via phone, text or email.  Our “mother ship” Plan Advisors also has support staff who can help.  There’s a training website you can log into whenever it works for you.  There’s a slack channel you can log onto and ask a question 24/7.  We even have a “Medicare Geek Virtual Happy Hour” each week you can log onto and get your questions answered or find out what is working for other agents.  All of our agents also get a quick start checklist and marketing guide to help them succeed more quickly.

You do.  If you leave, you can take your commissions, renewals and your members.  Some agents even choose to sell their books of business.

You can do either.  It’s actually a very hard career to start full-time.  It’s better to build this as you go, especially if you have monthly bills you need to pay in the meantime.  We’d rather you keep your day job or have a low-pressure gig like Door Dash or driving Uber while you build the business and focus on helping more and more people.  Leave your gig when your insurance income allows and empowers it, not before.

Over 11,000 people turn 65 every day of the year.  When it’s time for that person to go full Medicare, there are choices they have to make– Part D, Medicare Advantage or Supplement.  There are other products they can add on– hospital indemnity, cancer riders, long-term care insurance, even final expense.  You help the members make these decisions and you get paid initially and then renewals for as long as they remain your client.

If you have consistent personal production and recruit and train at least three agents who are also producing, you can spin off into your own sub-agency and get overrides on your own and their production.
